Adam Hinterlang was born in 1975 in Pittsburgh, PA. His studio practice is centered around drawing and animation. He has exhibited work nationally and internationally and has had work featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.  

He received his BFA in Photography and New Media, and Art History from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2004 and his MFA in Electronic Integrated Arts from Alfred University in 2006.

He currently works and lives in Boston, MA with his wife, ceramic artist Kyla Toomey and plays bass guitar in Post-rock band Numbers Have Names.
